Perez goes 4-0 at Ford Field for state wrestling crown

Six Tecumseh wrestlers made it to the Michigan High School Athletic Association individual championships on Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2. One grappler came home as state champion while two others medaled.

Vincent Perez brought home the championship crown in the 119-pound weight class, after going 4-0 at Ford Field. It is his first state title after finishing second last year. He will be heading to Central Michigan University in the fall where he received a scholarship to wrestle.

Josh Hilton took second in the state in the 112-pound weight division. He lost 9-6 to a three-time state champion. Kellen Patton took sixth at 125 pounds. The other three were eliminated. Victor Coscarelli went 0-2 at 130 pounds, Lucas Petty went 0-2 at 135 pounds and Clayton Boatright went 1-2 at 189 pounds.
