BD football improves to 3-0, beating NorthPointe Christian 38-12

Britton Deerfield is off to its best start in more than a decade after beating NorthPointe Christian 38-12 on Friday in Grand Rapids.
The Patriots (3-0) led 8-6 before Nico Johnson scored three touchdowns in the final 10 minutes of the first half to give BD a 30-6 lead at the break.
Johnson scored on runs of 33 and 69 yards and a 25-yard pass to Mason Mueller to cap the explosive second-quarter sequence.
Johnson finished with four touchdowns, 177 yards rushing on 12 carries and 89 yards through the air on 5-of-11 passing.
Mueller was BD’s leading receiver with four receptions for 85 yards and two TDs, while teammate Nick Wayne added 75 yards rushing and one TD on 9 carries.
NorthPointe (1-2) tallied 283 total yards with 251 coming on the ground.
The Patriots hosts Vandercook Lake this coming Saturday as they look to continue their success in their first year of 8-man football.
